As one of the Seedcamp 2009 winners, Erply participated in the Seedcamp Week in the United States, which took place on January 18-22. This year's US week spanned both coasts - first we spent a few days in New York, followed by two intensive days on the West Coast -- San Francisco and the Valley,
The days in New York included product pitches at Google and Apple offices; a meeting with various VCs at Union Square Ventures; and an inspiring meeting with Jonathan Klein, CEO of Getty Images, who shared his thoughts on how to guide a company through technological transition and build a truly great business.
Following that we flied to the West Coast. Two more Seedcamp-organised events took place there, one in Silicon Valley, another in San Francisco -- both bringing us in touch with a dazzling array of Valley VCs, angel investors, business mentors and entrepreneurs, who were eager to share their experience and offer advice. We are proud to say that ERPLY received quite a bit of attention (from influential guys of the Valley, no less) and we got a great number of valuable contacts. In addition to that, a visit was arranged to Techcrunch HQ, where we -- along with all other Seedcamp companies on the US tour -- made a short product presentation to Mike Arrington.
On the whole, the week in US was a tremendously useful, eye-opening experience; it gave us a glimpse of the well-connected tech world of Silicon Valley and showed the size and potential of US market. Many thanks to Seedcamp for organizing it and opening up new opportunities for us.
